Ferrets
players, Billy Moore, Lee Caulfield and Raymond Stockman look like the team
to beat heading into next weeks Finals night of the 3-a-Sides after
coming from behind to beat a strong Saints team 5-4, before comfortably
dispatching one of the McConnells teams 5-1 to make the Semi Finals.
They
will face Grinders trio Derek Whiteside, Andrew McMeekin and Steven
Carson who, although underdogs, will take comfort in the fact they have
only dropped 4 frames in the 3 matches they have played so far.
The
other Semi Final sees a McConnells team of Jeff Moore, Johnny Mackay,
Robert McCullough and Gee Crawley take on 5 Corners duo Simon McConnell
and Iain Britton joined by Wayside Captain Kyle Kirkwood and The
Granges' Gary Cowan.
McConnells
team made their way to the Semis after winning the Preliminary 'Tie of
the Round' against Stephen Herron, Alastair Wilson and Paul Francey 5-2,
before winning 5-0 and 5-1 in their last 16 and Quarter Final matches.
The
5 Corners Select team, made it to the Semi Finals with a tight match
against another 5 Corners team of Gary Neeson, Deeky Wilson and Ray
Crowe 5-4, with Captain Simon McConnell notching up a hat trick
including the important decider after receiving a walkover in the Last
16.
