Congratulations to Grinders trio Jonny Johnston, Joe Patton and Mervyn McIlvenny. The threesome have just won the Balyclare League 3 A Sides Championship which was played out on Thursday 4th April in the Sportsmans Bar.
After beating a strong Five Corners team of Michael Wilson, Alaister Wilson and Stephen Herron by 5-2 in the Quarter Finals they easily seen off the young trio of Craig Laughlin, Tyler McConnell and John Wilson by a 5-1 scoreline to reach the Final.
Awaiting them were Sara Greenberg, Rab Brown, Davy Montgomery and Andy Mackey. The match went all the way to the deciding 9th frame but it was McIlvenny who held his nerve to seal a great win for Johnston, Patton & himself.
