The big kick off or should we say cue off is nearly upon us. Thursday 4th October will see the 2012/2013 Ballyclare & District Pool League campaign get underway. Stewart Hull's McConnells will be defending their title hoping to make it a hat trick of 3 in a row. But they will no doubt be pushed all the way again by Kyle Kirkwood's Wayside team, whilst Stephen Herrons newly formed Five Corners team has plenty of experience and will surely be in the reckoning. Other newcomers the Grinders captained by Davy Montgomery will be stern opponents and will be looking to make an impact on their debut season. Wayside Blues under Aaron Kirkwood have strengthened and will be aiming for a top 4 finish along with the Grange Bar trio of Granges, Montys and Ballad. Parkview Hockey Club is always a difficult place to pick up points and Parkview 'A' will also be aiming for a top 4 finish. Parkview 'B' and Sporties will hope to cause a few upsets along the way. It promises to be one of the most competitive seasons on record so " chalk 'er up " and lets play pool.
